|Last week CEW had their annual product demo to showcase the hottest, newest and up and coming beauty brands on the market. Beauty Brands in every price point and category were included and there was so much to see and smell that we could have spent days walking the aisles and still not see every booth!
CEW partnered with global insight agency Mintel to show how related 2014 beauty trends are with the entrants of the Choice Beauty Awards, an event held at The Waldorf Astoria on May 15th, which celebrates best in beauty in every category from mass market to luxury.
CEW President Carlotta Jacobson and Mintel released their trend report with the #1 trend being Makeup with Anti-Aging claims, launches of these type products rose from 17% in 2010 to 21% in 2014. #2 Blurring products for the Selfie Generation, with 10% of US facial Make-Up users looking for this type of product including 22% of 18-24 year olds. #3 Contouring, with launches of these products experiencing a 230% growth. #4 New Formats are emerging like cushion compacts which started hitting US shelves in late 2014 and are projected to accelerate in 2015.
